Named after shipwrecked sailor Juan de Bermudez, Bermuda is located off the east coast of the United States. It is approximately 2½ hours flight time from New York City, and thus a favoured weekend getaway destination for East coast jet-setters. The island has an area of approximately 22 square miles, and a population of about 60,000 people. We are also fortunate to have one of the best standards of living worldwide.

Today, Bermuda is a communications and international business node. The island has a well-educated, cosmopolitan population that despite North American and English influences retains a unique character.
